Can someone recommend an after market navigation system for a 2005 Infiniti fx35?

I am purchasing a 2005 Infiniti Fx35 and was told that there is no way that a navigation system can be installed by the dealer. Can someone tell me what would be my best option to have the navigation in my vehicle? Thanks in advance for your answers!

If you haven't made a decision yet, then I would like to suggest buying one from Carmax. They have 21 in stock now with navigation and you can be assured that you're getting a steal (price wise) and the warranty is great. But if you don't want to do that you can go onto Crutchfield.com and find one that will be guaranteed to work in your vehicle. You can also enter the information in the OUTFIT MY CAR section and it'll show you a ton of other thing you can get for it. The prices are really goo there too.
I provided links for both.
The first link is for Carmax so you can see all the inventory of FX35s they have. (they'll transfer it to the store nearest you if it's not in your area.)
The second link is for navigation systems (GPS) that will work in your vehicle. I already put the OUTFIT my car info in so you should only see ones compatible.

Can you program different, more interesting voices into your navigation system?

Thinking of buying a Garmin or TomTom. I've heard you can get odd voices for the navigation system if you want. Where do you get it and how?

Mad Jack
These can be downloaded from the manufacturer. Some venders charge a nominal fee for this.

DinerKid
if you wish to get really interesting with it there is a website called pigtones and they have everything from Homer Simpson To Sean Connery. The site lets you preview each voice before purchasing it. it is pretty funny to listen to all of the voices. http://www.pigtones.com/

hope this helps

What is a good gps for geocaching and road navigation?

I have been looking for a good gps that isn't too pricey that I can use for geocaching and road navigation so that I can use it on walks though the city that my school is in because I do not know the roads around there and don't want to get lost. Are there any gps models that are good for that. And I am talking about handheld gps units, not the car units.

Uncle Pennybags
You want something called a "Crossover GPS" that is good for the dual uses you describe.

Check out the links below for ideas.

The one that I use is the Garmin GPSMAP 76 handheld. I wanted one that did all the basics but didn't have all the bells and whistles as I wanted to really keep the price down. It is not fancy but it will do everything you need and it is waterproof which is handy.

It works well for geocaching and no problem with road navigation. Plus it is small enough to easily tuck away. Here is more information on it if interested.... http://www.gearreviewsonline.com/garmin-handheld-gps-review/
