I cant download to my gps because it is not recognized by my computer. How can I change that?

Driver problem. If you are running 7. I have had many similar problems. I have fixed them by uninstalling the old drivers and plugging it in to allow it to search. If not on windows 7, that is still the best bet.
Check in the devices and printers, if there is a picture for an unidentified device that is good. Right click it and say troubleshoot if in windows 7, or go to: right click, properties > hardware > properties > driver tab> uninstall driver. If there is no picture for an unidentified device, then i'm not sure what is wrong.
