What is this all about? What part of that GPS (Garmin) is toxic to humans? They give no other information about it--just this:
this product, its packaging, and its components contain chemicals known
to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm..."
They don't tell u this until you have spent 200 dollars on it
please someone tell me what this means. Am I gonna get cancer using it? Or have children with birth defects?

No lol... THey simply have to say that because 1 person in 750,000 could get that from the plastics and wiring in it... Chances are you are NOT going to be affected in any way... They simply do not want to get sued by that 1 person in 750,000

"Am I gonna get cancer using it? Or have children with birth defects?" - No. If this was the case, the product would not be available on the market.
This is why there is a warning:
LCD screens and possibly other components of a GPS unit (or any other electronic device) may contain harmful chemicals like Mercury.
Mercury is a very poisonous chemical and can cause serious illness, birth defects and even death if somehow ingested in abnormal quantities.
Under normal circumstances the dangerous chemicals are very contained so they do not leak out, and the product is safe to use. However, if you damage the unit (for example by cracking the screen), the seal can be broken and those dangerous chemicals can leak out and are very hazardous if not handled correctly.
Having said all that, you are exposed to many of these toxic chemicals in your every day life, and the potential exposure from the GPS unit is not something you need to worry about. For example some fish (particularly tuna from Asia) have mercury in them, this is why for example it is recommended that you do not eat tuna more than once a week, and limit the quantities when you do, especially if pregnant.
