The Navigation on my Ford Expedition 2003 is giving wrong reading for distance covered by Vehicle?

Actually the Navigation is going faster than the vehicle itself. I doubt the VSS not giving right input. After severe winters I also noticed the transmission to shift quickly from gear 1 to gear 2. Should I consult a Ford dealer and pay a phenomenal cost to get it fixed or just buy a GPS ?
Actually the Navigation is now misguiding due to incorrect measurement of actual and reported distance covered.

It is more likely that your speedometer is not reading correct! They can easily be off by 5%; usually show that the vehicle is traveling faster than the actual speed. What is the difference is speed readings?

Why buy a GPS? You already have the Nav... Even if the distances are off a little bit.

^^^ gps and nav are the same thing

its called gps navigation. more then likly its not the nav that soff but your car.
if you have diferent then stock tires?wheels on that could cause it.
